WHY FAITH KIPYEGON IS SO SPECIAL.

In the history of track and field at the Olympics, Faith Kipyegon is the first woman to achieve a three-peat in the same event. This means winning back-to-back-to-back Olympic titles in the same event. After winning the 1,500 metres race which earned her another medal in the completed Olympics championship, lets take a lok into what makes her special in athletes and history .

Faith Kipyegon joins Carl Lewis as one of only two track and field athletes to achieve a three-peat in the Olympics in the same event.

In the 128 years of the Olympics, Faith Kipyegon is the first woman to achieve a three-peat in the same event and win silver in another event.

She is the first woman to achieve a three-peat and also break the Olympic record while winning her third Olympic title.

Kipyegon is the first woman to win three world titles and three Olympic titles in the same event.

She also joins Usain Bolt as one of the only track and field athletes to have won at least three World Championships and three Olympic titles in the same event.

Kipyegon is the only track and field athlete to have won four World Championships and three Olympic titles in the same event.

She has become  the first person to win five World Cross Country Championships, three Olympic titles, and four World Championships.

Faith Kipyegon is the first track and field star to win the World Youth Championship, World Junior Championship, Commonwealth Championship, Olympic title, and World Championship in the same event.

We are now reaching the point where an argument can be made that Faith Kipyegon is the greatest woman in the recent history of track and field. She has done it all. Time will tell if she will also join Chebet in 10,000 metres race where she will be looking to make another history and maybe we might see her in marathon just like the way Hellen Obiri transitioned.
