WIDOWS SHOULD HAVE GRACE PERIOD.
I was following the burial preparations of the lated comedian Fred Omondi and I noticed something very interesting.
His elder bro , Eric Omondi announced that any lady who had a child together with Fred should come forward with the child.
This was a clever move since Kenya has the record of people claiming that the deceased had sired kids with them.
We've seen how the Kibaki's have had a tough time dealing with the man who claimed to have been sired by Kibaki.
Even recently, the late Kelvin Kiptum was alleged to have sired a it's kid with a certain lady.
My point is, the law should make it clear that all claims on kinship should be raised before the dead is buried to avoid DNA testing fiasco.
If someone has a claim, it should be done before burial so that if DNA test is needed, samples are easy to collect rather than waiting someone to be buried and later demand that the body should be exhumed to collect samples.
This will help courts with this kind of cases.
Clandes should let our 'widows' enjoy ile sadaka kidogo wamepata in peace.
