RAILA HAS DONE ENOUGH.
There was uproar in the country when Raila Odinga proposed that the country needed dialogue to solve the issues that pushed youths into the streets.
This prompted Gen Zs to label him Selfish and some dirty names.
What I want to tell them is that there has never been a politician in history of Kenya who sacrificed his personal interests for the well being of Kenya.
It's funny how kids born seven years after Saba Saba think that they can be freedom fighters.
On Raila's side, he has demonstrated his selflessness in many ways.
In 2002, he joined Kibaki in ensuring that the Moi regime came to an end . After NARC won the election, it's claimed that Kibaki wanted to appoint Raila as his deputy instead of Kijana Wamalwa. Kibaki felt that Tinga had played a big role in his victory.
Raila refused the offer
In 2008 , we all know who won the elections. The country was then plunged into a political crisis and lives were lost. If Raila had listened to the advice of his hardliners, we would be saying otherwise. He decided to sign the Power sharing agreement that helped bring stability and during the highly volatile period.
Even the handshake with Uhuru Kenyatta stabilized the country and people were able to do business without political cuffs.
In history of Kenyan politics, there has never been a politician that has promoted gender equality like Raila.
He has supported women in their elective bids.
He even chose Martha Karua as his running mate despite having other options.
In as much as he has been disappointing some people, let's not forget his contributions for the greater good of the nation.
Gen Zs are being incited by the social media praises that they are getting, they should be reminded that if the government shuts the internet, the noise they're making will be easily forgotten.
Threatening Jakom with "salamu" will not change anything. Electoral process in Kenya has never been credible and this is what we should be fighting for especially when IEBC is going to recruit new commissioners.
Let's learn when to retreat and when to attack.
