''RACISM BY CHOICE''

Last week we witnessed one of the worst football reporting from Telegraph about the game where England lost to Iceland.

Chaos were everywhere and social media was not left behind.
The main reason for the chaos was on how the black players in the squad were treated.
A photo of Telegraph's front page

First of all, Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka, who only played for 24 minutes was on the cover page of the newspaper with the title "Awful Plane" .

Imagine only playing for 24 minutes but still being blamed for the loss in which the winning goal was scored in the 11th minute.
That was blatant racism.

Secondly, Kobbie Mainoo, who started in midfield alongside Declan Rice was also blamed on the goal with Telegraph saying that he is not mature enough to start alongside Rice.

Let's talk about the goal first. The guys who were at fault were Declan Rice, Cole Palmer, Kyle Walker and Aaron Ramsdale .
They were the ones who were caught out of position and failed to track back but since a black kid was also in the mix, he became the scapegoat of the loss.
Harry Kane had a great chance to equalize but didn't do well either.

This is a repeat of the last EUROS where Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho were racially abused for missing their penalties against Italy.
They were the public enemy on that day.

In the last World Cup, Harry Kane missed the most crucial penalty in England's history against France but pundits and fans came in his defence saying how much pressure he was facing at that time.
Imagine if he was black . He would have been told to go back to his country accompanied by monkey sounds and emojis.

Black players in the England squad are going to be the scapegoats if the Nation fails in the upcoming championships.

Black players who are playing for European countries need to think twice before switching allegiance. The young players who aspire to become great players should learn from the mistakes of those who came before them.

Playing for your country of origin does not make you less human . In fact, fact back home will always support you in your journey.

Look at the Moroccan side that reached the semi finals of the 2022 world, almost all of them were born and raised abroad but the heroic reception they got from their fans was astonishing.

                                        Morocco National Team.

Sadio Mane , Mo Salah, Samwel Etoo and even Diddier Drogba enjoy a cult-like support from their countrymen .
When the countries are playing great, the white boys take the credit but when things get bad, it's the African players who face ridicule.

Patrice Evra said that he regretted not playing for Senegal. He said that the French only smiled at him when performing at the highest level.

African players need to understand that they will never be appreciated fully. Representing the country of origin is the only choice.
